The Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique has the honour to inform that, according to Decree No. 10/2023 of March 31, 2023, citizens holding ordinary passports from 29 countries, including Japan and the Republic of Korea, who intend to travel to Mozambique, for tourism and business purposes, are exempt from presenting entry visas.
Citizens covered by this exemption are allowed multiple entries for a period of 30 days from the date of the first entry. This period may be extended for an additional 30 days, upon justification, and the request must be submitted through the website or at the Local Immigration Office in the area of accommodation.
This exemption does not exempt citizens from complying with the Legal Formalities Relating to Entry, Stay and Exit, applicable in the Republic of Mozambique, such as:
- Be the holder of a passport with a remaining validity of no less than six (6) months;
- The citizen cannot be in a situation of prohibition to enter the Republic of Mozambique;
- Present a copy of the return flight ticket;
- Present a copy of proof of accommodation.
Citizens eligible for the exemption regime must complete the pre-registration* through the website(www.evisa.gov.mz) at least 48 hours before departure.
