From June 29 to July 8, 2026, 134 students from five African countries (Mozambique, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Kenya) visited Japan as part of the “Africa Youth Program.” This exchange initiative between African and Japanese youth was launched during the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), held in Japan in August 2025.

During their stay in Tokyo, the students visited companies and their respective Embassies accredited in the Japanese capital. They also traveled to Hokkaido and the prefectures of Nagano, Gifu, and Shiga, where they engaged in exchanges with Japanese pre-university students and stayed with local families.

During the stay, the young Mozambican students visited Mozambique Embassy in Japan, where they were received by H.E. Ambassador Alberto Paulo.
